Hi. Im new here in this forum.

I think my laptop needs servicing. The display suddenly flickers. I dont know what causes it. I was downloading a file when suddenly that happened and since then, it keeps on flickering. The laptop is still in warranty. My question is:

1. Is repairing my laptop covered by the warranty?

2. What should I bring with me in the service center aside from my laptop?

Hi, I just brought Acer ES1-572-33M8 model from an online store. Is this model contains linux? Online store says it has linux . How ever I am not able to access the gui in linux and it always boots in command prompt mode? Can any one confirm whether its having gui or i need to install it. Will it support Windows7 os. I tried to download the drivers. But acer store shows only Windows10 models

when I want to install wnidow 10 on my acer f5-573g lap top recive this eror "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. the selected disk has an MBR partition table. on EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks."

How can I solve that ?

My Acer E15 E5-575G-52RJ wont boot. It seems that the battery is discharged, but it wont charge.

I was playing some games the previous night when my laptop suddenly turned off. I thought it was just a normal overheating issue and so I kept the laptop in front of the air conditioner to let it cool and then started playing again a few minutes later. But the laptop turned off after 10 minutes. The next day I tried to play again and this time it turned off within 5 minutes. After that it would turn off as soon as the 940MX kicked in when I started playing. The laptop didnt really feel hot. The last time I was able to play something, it turned off while the CPU was at 67 degrees celsius, (which is fine for gaming for a laptop for this price, there is no danger under 90 C)even though it has a max temp of 100. The GPU was under 60.   I tried looking for fixes to reduce heating like turning off intel turbo boost and setting the fan speed to 100% by using Notebook Fan Control, along with using a laptop cooler. But the problem still persisted. Later on the laptop started turning off even without any graphic intensive program. This was all happening with the laptop plugged in. Now the laptop doesnt even  POST. Sometimes if I turn it on with it plugged in, the laptop begin to boot but then turn off (the screen's backlight would flash, and you would here a silent "peep" from the fan turning off). Some rare times I might even get to the Acer logo. The laptop does nothing when it is not plugged in. And when I plug it in, the charging light first stays red(which indicates charging) and then a few seconds later becomes blue(which indicates full charge). I have tried all possible fixes, like doing a "hard reset" of the battery by pressing the button through the pin hole, and even trying to run it with the battery disconnected. It is also not a problem with the charging cord as the charging cord of my other Acer laptop also has the same result.

 

This is a new laptop and so this is really dissapointing. I am not in the USA and so I cannot return it.  Also before last night, there had never been any problems with this laptop, and this is like the 5th day since I have gotten it.

Specs:

Acer E15 E5-575G-52RJ

Intel i5 7200U (the sticker says 6200U. Also when I bought it I was expecting it to have 6200U but instead mine has a 7200U.)

Nvidia Geforce 940MX 2GB GDDR5

8GB DDR4

Windows 10 home.

 

Does the E5-574-307M motherboard has PCIe x16 slots?

I don't know where to post this but I don't know much about laptops and mines stopped working.
I have an aspire E5-575G which I bought off Amazon quite a while ago, but just today has it been unable to charge and has turned off. On Amazon I noticed some people comparing about the battery inside the laptop.
Do I need to buy a new charger or a new battery ?
Any help would be great I need my laptop to revise ! Thanks

Hi All,
I know that my laptop in not so new, but it is still a very good machine to work/play with, especially after i put on it an SSD.
By the way, now the time to change the screen come, because several (7 - 9)dead pixel appeared plus another whiter spot. So i was wondering, after days spent on web to figure out how, if its possible upgrade my screen 15.6" from 1366x768 to an 1920x1080. Obviously i know that its not only an issue of dimensions of the new screen and its pin connector, but also the LCD cable that is very important if you want to change it.
Now the question is:

Can i upgrade the screen ? i saw other models from newer acer laptop that "could" fit but they have 30 pin connector instead of my actual screen that is 40.

Which Lcd cable should i use? i saw other cable for newer laptop the have a FHD edp 30 pin screen but im not sure if they fit my motherboard connector ( which i assume has a 40 pin too)

Im a bit confused right now, if you could suggest me a way to start i would be more than thankful.

In every other laptop, deskop I have been able to enable or disable features of the processor, turn off onbard sound, turn off onboard video, etc..  When I enter the bios I see only very basic functions - most are just information.

 

Is there a way for me to do this with my Aspire F15?  

 

Im affraid I might return the laptop if I can not have this level of control.

I have an E1-572 Laptop running Windows 10 64 bit. When connecting an HDMI cable from my laptop to my TV the picture is there but the sound still comes from my laptop and not the TV. I have looked in Playback Devices but the only icon showing is Speakers Realtek High Definition Audio Default Device. I have right-clicked in the box to ensure that Show Disabled and Disconnected Devices are ticked. I have tested the HDMI cable on another laptop (HP Pavilion) and get both picture and sound through the TV. Any solutions gratefully accepted.

When I put in my model number at acer.com/support to find the drivers for my laptop, it includes a Nvidia VGA driver in the drivers to download. The reason i am confused is, I do not have a Nvidia graphics card.

Hi everyone,

I have a problem. I resently wanted to reset my pc, but before that i had to make a backup of my importanty files, so i saved my files in usb. When the reseting process was complated, i tryed to get my files back, but the usb didn't work (whenever i plug it in i could hear the sound but nothing was showing up). So i tryed to fix it but made some changes that i shouldn't make (also deleted some things in Device Manager). After that i got windows errors, and i had to install windows again.

 

Now i have new windows 10. But my pc is not like it was before. A lot of things are not working, like the touchpad [i tryed Fn + F7, also tryed to download drivers from acer website, but its still not working].

So is there anything i can do to fix my pc? like reseting everything and making my laptop like what it was when i bought first, all default drivers and settings, ... [i have a backup of my files, so i don't care deleting everything]

Hello all. I recently needed to reset my pc from a usb. I had to creat a usb from a friend pc. Once I was able to get my system back up windows shows my pc as my friends model and not mine. Also when trying to access files from Acer portal it reregistered my pc with my frinds pc model. I changed the name back to the original name but acer portal still only shows my friends system and not my original. How can i restore my original system? I have did a reset to factory setting (keep my files option). but no change to my original system. I havwe posted a screen shot of the issues I have. If you look at the acer portal that is the pc I Have. Also if you look at the about it has a different type of pc with the specs of mine. It is because of this I cant get to my files on the abApps. please help. Thank you in advance!
