Hi,

 

I had an Aspire 5742 for 6 years, very happy. Upgraded to E5-575 (bought in Ireland). Very happy with speed but quality of screen is terrible, much worse than 6 year old model. I know resolution is only 1366x768, but there are noticeable jagged edges on text and images - pixelation all over the place.

 

Is this a known problem with cheap panel being used in this particular model? Can anything be done, it is really unacceptable quality.

Im having  an issue with my speakers they emit static sound . At first i thought it was the speakers themselves but ive tried some recomended fix and found out that the speakers work fine but then after some minutes the static sound is back. Ive recently formated the windows and for the first week 0 problem then again the same problem came back but it wasnt tht bad after sometimes it went away, but right now it went back to the static noises again. There is no official acer repair shop here and honestly i dnt want to give my laptop for repair , so is there anyway to fix this ? Or is there someway to remove the speaker so tht i use a Headset  ?  Thanks

Hello,

 

I upgraded the BIOS on my ACER ASPIRE E15 three days ago to the V1.10, and now I can't do nothing on the network.

The Ethernet and the Wifi cards are on the components manager, but I can't see them on the Network manager (Windows 10 64 bits).

Do you know this kind of issue ?

Is it possible to downgrade the BIOS version to an older ?

OK, I installed a samsung 850 EVO M.2 ssd and I think I migrated the windows 10 operating system etc. to the ssd using the samsung migration tool, i went in and updated the bios boot to the ssd, but for some reason I can not get the operating system to boot from the SSD.  I want to keep the hdd for additional storage and would prefer to not disconnect it.  OK, I installed a samsunf 850 EVO M.2 ssd and I think I migrated the windows 10 operating system etc. to the ssd using the samsung migration tool, i went in and updated the bios boot to the ssd, but for some reason I can not get it to boot from the SSD.  I want to keep the hdd for additional storage. Before that case, I do nothing with my phone.

 

Has been running for 2 days, only off when battery runs out.

already try to do HARD RESET, but can not running HARD RESET

I do have a Aspire E5-573G-387K Notebook. 

I've been using this for an Year. Working fine. Recently I did have a clean installation of my Windows 10. So I came to acer support to download drivers. There I find many BIOS updates for the Model I'm having is available. Some of them are denoted as providing improvement in System performance. I'm now in a bit of confusion which on i could download and install. Am I have to download em all and install one by one or download the last updated verison and install only that. I dont wanna brick my beloved lappy at this moment. Thanks in advance.

I have had my laptop for just under 6 months and recently it has become a common occurance to switch off automatically, (screen black and sound loss when watching videos etc ) and basically go into sleep mode. I can power it back on straight away and everything will still be open and running. Can happen up to 3 times in a row.
My laptop has fallen off my bed once and there is a slight clicky noise on the screen edging but I'm unsure if it is related.

Hi

I have an intermittent problem with the touchpad on my Acer laptop running Win10. It switches from tap to click to click and drag. This is often preceeded by 'ghost' images of various dialog boxes which appear on screen and are permanent. I'm thinking it's a software error as when I reboot the computer it's fine again. Tap to click is enabled in settings and switching it off and on again has no effect.

I see I'm not alone with this problem, but I've seen it on Dell laptops. Could it be a Win10 problem?

I have heard it's possible to restart the touchpad without rebooting the laptop. Does anyone know how to do this? All help gratefully received.

We have the following Acer models that we have ordered recovery media for:

On all units, the recovery media works until the machine reboots into Windows from the internal hard disk.
The laptops show the Acer splash screen with the rotating circle at the bottom of the screen, then after a few seconds the screen goes blank with just the mouse pointer. The machine will not boot into Windows, no matter how long it is left.

We have run extensive diagnostics on the HDDs & RAM, which have shown no errors.

The media has been replaced, and the replacements still show the same result.

We have updated the BIOS for each unit to the latest version. We have "cleaned" the HDDs then re-installed the recovery media. We have tried creating recovery media from an identical model. None of this has made any difference.

If we recover the machines using Windows 8.1 media from a different model, it installs, boots, & activates correctly, but not all of the drivers are present, (due to the recovery not specifically for this machine) this would suggest that the units are not faulty.

These units have previously been installed with Windows 10 for display purposes, but we need to recover back to the original Windows 8.1 for sale.

 

Is it possible that Windows 10 has made a change to the BIOS or HDD?

My Acer Aspire E1-571G was bought 2 years ago and i took great care of it, the left corner started clicking and i noticed the cover lifting when i opened and closed the laptop. This has now resulted in something coming loose in the laptop and the cover now gapes when i open and close it. This is definitely a manufacturing fault and i have found out that others have the ACER laptops has the same problem. I cannot find a email address for ACER. How many others have this problem? Shouldn't ACER have recalled the laptops when they found out about this problem? What can i do to hold them accountable for this MANUFACTURING FAULT?

Good afternoon! I really hope that you will help me with my problem.
My Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG yesterday suddenly turned off during operation, the case was slightly warm. The laptop was connected to the network and I noticed that it turned off when the battery was 100% charged. At the same time, all the power indicators were gently extinguished. After some time in the bag, the laptop was very hot - most likely it still worked. Now the laptop does not react to anything, it does not work, the power indicators do not turn on.
Any idea what to do about it? Thank you!

My Acer ES 14 Laptop randomly shuts down at 40%-50% battery percentage. I don't really know how to fix it, i don't know if the problem is the battery or if i just have to adjust some settings. BTW my laptop has been already 1 year old since the day I bought it. PLS HELP!

there is no option for legacy mode only .

Hi Acer,

I found one issue about CPU frequency go into lowest frequency after plug AC adapter.

[NB platform]

Acer Aspire  E 15  E5-532G-P4YU

[OS]

Win10 RS1 build 14393

[BIOS]

v1.23 2016/11/04

[Reproduce step]

1.The system don't plug in AC adapter. Boot to Win10 RS1 build 14393 OS. Go to Power option. make sure that setting is keep in "High Performance". 

2.Open that Task manager and find that CPU frequency is keep in high frequency. (2.48 ~ 2.55 GHz)

3.Plug in the AC adapter to Acer E5-532G-P4YU NB.

4.I find that CPU frequency go into lowest frequenc. (ex: 0.46GHz) <----problem

5.remove AC adapter from Acer E5-532G-P4YU NB. 

6.The CPu frequency is keep in high frequency. (2.48 ~ 2.55 GHz)

I just bought this beautiful laptop september at Fnac. I was in love with it ...
F5-573g-59aJ  !
But as far as i opened the bios panel my headache started!

[What] IS THIS? are you crazy acer or what?

I am an experienced user and i just CANT use capped laptop by software! This policy needs to be reverted and i want a solution right now!

i cant adjust ahci, i cant adjust virtualization, i cant adjust ANYTHING and it sucks! i tried support chat more than 3 times and cant get my answer!
How can i enter into advanced settings in bios menu? I NEED IT and WITHOUT IT THIS LAPTOP IS USELESS!
And dont come to say that " we dont have thius answer" yes you do! somebody programmed this way and is going to give me an way out!

And i dont care about warranty void because im graduated and i can fix any computer, laptop, hardware, software ! So no im not worried about warranty but  im going to use it to make you guys fix my problem! Because if it were out of warranty you would say ( its out we cant help), and now that its still covered you say ( we cant)..same answer ? no way i cant accept it!
I do pay acer to solve problems not to give me more! this locked bios is the worst bios software ive ever used!

MSI,Asus and other companies does not locks bios like this, it is a shame for acer that its locked this way! And i dont want to buy from the others, i want to keep using acer, but to be able to keep with you i need you guys to provide me an way to enter into the advanced tabe from a product that is mine.

Do you guys know what happens when you do it? your costumers do google for " bios mods" and do use fake methods to destroy their computers  just because you guys do have polices like these, transparency is the key to the trust!

So please fix my problem, send me an private email with an unlocked version of my bios to flash or instructions with key combinations that unlock my advanced menu. expert users do need freedom and i tought acer could give users the freedom they do reserve!

I felt like i was left behind by your live chat service today, more than 3 times  and no answer...always the same automatic useless way to talk about it...its a shame!
