I need to replace the HDD that failed. I purchased a new HDD, but it will not load WIN10, or any OS. It says I need a recovery disk, but there was not one in the box. Now what?
My e1-572-6829 from Walmart has a bad HDD. It came with NO recovery disk or USB. HELP

Forgot supervisor BIOS password Aspire E 15 E5-573 39K5
Forgot supervisor BIOS password on Aspire E 15 E5-573 39K5 (manufacture date Aug, 15 2015). I did set the PW, successfully accessed all BIOS functions yesterday, changed the PW and must have mistyped. Am able to login to BIOS using User PW where it only allows changing the date/time. I forgot/mistyped the HDD PW too and it says "Frozen" in the User BIOS screen. Only answers I've found yet get past User PW by entering code displayed after enter wrong User PW three times. I am the legitimate, registered, paid-for-it owner of the laptop and can prove that on paper. I registered it with Acer by serial number the date I bought it. I have not called Acer support yet and don't want to (I'm afraid they'll say "send it in" - the reason I'm avoid that is it's my only computer and can't be without it for a week - I am not avoiding proving legal ownership).

Acer aspire E1 boot problems
I have a great laptop of which i had the pleasure of using for 2 years, but today when i tried to use my laptop it seem to freeze on the windows 10 login screen.
When connecting a external mouse and keyboard only the mouse seems to work. the keyboard seem not to work at all. I have some knowledge with computers, being an IT student so i have tried to work with the software but it seems to be closed of pretty well. i don't want to install a different kind of windows because of the possibility of losing the functions of the extra buttons.
is there any way i can get my laptop to work again for as it seems to me to be a software problem.

E642 starting up with black screen, how do I fix it properly, not just the temporary fix???
My laptop has been starting up with a black screen. As I am studying online, you can understand why I had a heart attack the first time it happened. I googled it and tried all the solutions on the net; with the holding the power button down without the battery and power cord in, to drain the excess power, worked after about 20 tries. I had to turn it off to take it to the library for quiet time without my 4 year old, and when I tried turning it back on, it did the same thing. Again, after about 20 goes of draining it (and getting a massive stress headache), it turned back on. MY QUESTION IS...
WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED SO THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN? WHAT IS THE MAIN CAUSE OF IT?

bought this laptop today, brand new from tesco, got it home switched it on, went through all the setup process but had to use the on screen keyboard as a lot of the keys dont work. is this something thats quite common?
I have tried changing all the language settings and all that malarky but still certain keys don't work. they are not all bunched together ..o0ms most of the numbers, both on top row and number pad.
Hopefully i'm just being stupid and there is something i have done
any help would be greatly appreciated as acer helplin closes at 5.30pm

Acer Aspire Laptop touchpad won't show up in hardware after system recovery
I have Acer Aspire laptop E1-531-2892, it was running Windows 7, recently my hardrive let go, I was able to install a new harddrive with recovery disk. It's now up and running again BUT the touchpad doesn't work. It doesn't show up in devices / hardware. Which seems to be a regular problem with Acer laptops. I tried the Function key and f7 which makes no difference. I tried re-installing the driver no change and it appears when doing that it doesn't even know it's there. There is no setting in BIOS to turn touchpad on or off. And I feel every message board, but have not found the right one yet. HELP - going nuts.

Acer Aspire E571 No Sound
Hello Fellow Acer Owners,
I have a problem with my Acer Aspire E571, my laptop is now 6 months old +- and a few day's ago the sound just stopped working at the speakers and audio jack...
When i put an hdmi in my laptop my monitor gets sound tough...
I tried to re install all drivers, bios updates, setting the main playback devices and even a full reset of the pc itself, but nothing works... i see the litle green bar going up and down at the realtek speaker to show that there is sound going on, but again i hear nothing.
I realy have no clue what is should do...

problem after BIOS upgrade acer aspire ES1-511
hello,
i have recently update the bios of my laptop acer aspire ES1-511 from 1.03 to 1.10 and now i have a lots of problem: my keyboard doesn't work anymore, sometimes the touchpad too, and i can't turn on my computer if the power cord isn't plugged in.
i thougth i could reset the BIOS but when i go in the BIOS screen the keyboard doesn't work, so i can't press f9 for the reset. what i have to do? i've open the laptop but i haven't find the CMOS battery or the jumper for the BIOS reset.
please help me to fix it.

I have upgraded to Windows 10 from Widows 8.1 (pre-installed) , on my "ACER Aspire E1 472P- 6491" laptop by taking advantage of the free upgrade offer and successfully activated Windows 10 . I do not have a Windows (8.1 or 10) product key , as the Windows was pre-loaded on the laptop .
Now I want to make a " Windows10 Recovery Drive ", which can be used later to boot/re-instal Windows10 in case my Laptop fails to boot or to reset/troubleshoot any problems on Windows10 . Accordingly I tried to Create Factory Default Backup via Control Panel ( Backup & Restore ) option, but I found that it is meant for Windows 7 or 8.1 only ( which means that the system can be recovered back to Windows 7 or 8.1 only – not Windows 10 ) .
I am surpised as to why Backup & Restore is meant for Windows 7 only , when I have upgraded to Windows 10 already . In fact I have upgraded to Windows 10 from Widows 8.1 ( not Windows 7 ), then why it is taking me back to Windows 7 ? Can I not create a Recovery USB Media/Drive Backup for Windows10 for future use , after I have upgraded to Windows 10 ? If not , then how to make a Windows10 Recovery USB Media/Drive .
I expect some Microsoft representative to reply & explain on the following points –
a) After upgradation to Windows 10 , why Control Panel ( Backup & Restore ) option is meant for Windows 7 ( or 8.1 ) recovery .
b) How to create Windows10 Recovery USB Media/Drive Backup that will work to boot/re-instal Windows10 in case my Laptop fails to boot in future .

Aspire E1-571 Games stuttering, FPS drops and lagging

Hi everyone,
The problem is, i upgraded my laptop to windows 10 from Windows 7. Installed updates and everything, but when i play games, the game starts freezing, FPS drops, and starts stuttering. Even GTA San Andreas worked perfectly, at 80-90 FPS with ENB series, now i am getting 60-40 FPS, depending on the location. But when i play SA-MP, it sometimes starts lagging as hell, i played GTA IV, 60-70 FPS, now the GTA IV lags as hell, i used to play War-face, 50-65 FPS, now it lags as hell. I thought the games lags because of over-heating, i bought the extra fan for it, whenever i play any games, the laptop doesn't gets hot, it doesn't over-heats.
Any help would be appreciated.

Touchpad replacement
Hello,
touchpad on my new laptop is awfully loud and makes noise when I type on the keyboard, which is something I've never seen before!
Does any of you know that other touchpad can I put inside, since this one is driving me crazy?!

ES1-512 wont boot
I have a friends ES1-512 that wont boot
all i get when i turn it on is the fan turns on, the back light turns on, no POST, then the fan turns off and it just sits there.
Tried fn+F5 and nothing
but fn+F6 does turn the screen off and on
thought about reflashing the bios but i am unable to find a service manual anywhere
any ideas would be appreciated

Why on my E5-511G-C2PK in the Quick Access app only Bluelight Shiled?
I saw screenshots with Wi-fi, Bluetooth settings, etc. But the only available feature on my laptop is Bluelight Shiled.
My Acer is E5-511G-C2PK with latest Windows 10 insider preview. And I installed latest Quick Access app form support website.
