A number of keys suddenly stopped working. What happened and how do I solve it?

As the headline says, a large chunk of the keyboard suddenly stopped working. Ctrl, Alt, Alt Gr, PgDn, PgUp, arrow keys, and Esc, at least.

 

I've tried reboot, hard/forced reboot, and clean reboot. There is no keyboard driver or Launchpad utility available on Acer's website.

 

Model: Acer Aspire E3-112

Windows 10 64-bit

 

What do I do? I've had trouble with the touchpad before, which was resolved following a Windows update. I haven't found anything here or through Google, but maybe several users are experiencing this problem right now and it is being fixed as we speak?

Hello!

 

I recently purchased 16 of the E5-575g-53vg for teachers at our school. A single E15 is now having some trouble, specifically when unplugged and on Battery. I have done research on here and run across the R7 thread requiring a tightening of screws, and as well have used the Battery Reset pinhole technique, but to no avail. The laptop will unexpectedly shut down whether it is on an unsteady surface like in ones lap, or on a sturdy, static surface like a desk. It also shuts down randomly in regards to battery, whether it bet in the 90% range, 80, 70, 60 etc... Logs seem not to indicate any software or OS issue, so I am going to bank this on the battery. Is there anything I can do before sending it in to (hopefully) be fixed? The unavailability time is high, 3 full weeks from the date they receive it, and that will greatly affect a teacher so close to our end of semester testing schedule. 

 

Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated!

When I check my Aspire E15, it seems to indicate that the active video is the built-in Intel 620 instead of the GeForce 940MX. However, both seem to be active in the system information app. Is there a way to turn off the 620 and use the 940MX full time? Or is their running simultaneously not a problem? Or, for that matter, is the 620 a better choice?

 

Also, is there a service manual available somewhere for this laptop? I've added a 2TB HDD and upgraded to 16GB RAM (both amazingly easy after some other laptops I've tried to upgrade lately), but I'd still like to know more about it.

Hello every one.

Sometimes I want to control my laptops fan.For example set it's RPM to 100%.But there is no way.

I tried "Speedfan" software but it doesn't recognize my fan.

I tried BIOS;But there is no fan option in my BIOS.

However,"IObit Advanced SystemCare 10" can monitor my fan's RPM.

Is there any way to control my fan speed?

Bluetooth which came pre-installed with my windows 10 laptop has now stopped working. I have Bluetooth on my iPad and devices are working.I am a real geek and any replies I would appreciate if they were in very basic form.

hi people! I need help

 

because right after I changed my ram inside my laptop. Of course, i connected everything even its cables...and right after bootup. My speaker just plays a crackling noise. And whenever I use my earphones, it can play whatever media I have, yet the speaker is still playing the crackling noise

Accidently we bought some time ago this laptop with preinstalled Windows 10 and on the next Windows update we found, that it has 32GB hard drive, which is not enough for Windows update even without other software installed.

It looks like this laptop model have no any internal connectors for any drives types.

Is it possible to upgrade somehow installed hard drive or we can just throw away this scrap and buy normal laptop?

Hello,

I have just updated bios from v1.15 to v1.37 on acer aspire E5-573G-562R laptop and while it was updating laptop restarted several times and now it is showing me "No Bootable Device". What to do?

 

EDIT: I switched from UEFI to Legacy and everything seems to be working but is it good? Will that effect on security or on performance? Thanks in advance

With the DVD RW (D) Drive, it will play music & other discs with info already on it, but the drive won't allow me to format any blank discs or to burn photo's or save written work on to any disc. The programming does appear to be set to allow burning, & I've called Acer, but it's going to cost money I haven't got for something that should automatically work on this laptop.  Any idea's/help to sort this out would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi guys,

 

I bought this laptop for about 350 and upgraded it to 16 GB DDR4 and added 2 512GB SATA SSDs. I think it's one of the best purchases I've done in a long time. I like the i5-6200 with 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD with FHD screen, USB-C, QCA9377 802.11ac and BT4.1.

 

macOS Sierra ran ok on it, but the wifi card was not recognized by macOS. Apparently even though it is an ath10k compatible chipset, macOS doesn't support it.

 

So anyways I am using Win10 Anniversary Update and everything is smooth as silk in UEFI Secure Boot mode with Bitlocker and TPM, exactly as I wanted.

 

This laptop has an empty M.2 2280 m-keyed slot. Does anybody know if it supports NVME SSDs? I would like to know this before I spend USD 500 on a 1TB Samsung 960 NVME SSD.

 

EDIT: UEFI is InsydeH20 1.15.

hi there , i need help my charger gets very hot when i play big game like mafia 3 or gta and when i unplug the charger from the laptop the battery can barely last an hour because of the game . the battery is good it last 12 hours without playig games so i need a way to play without damging the battery or the charger and if there is a way to remove the battery please tell me . my laptop model aspire f15 { F5-573G-71GR } .

Aspire 5742-6687 ... Upgraded to Win 10 about a year ago from Win 7.... and about 3 days ago my WiFi stopped connecting...Windows troubleshooter says to turn on the switch....don't see one and never knew of one. PLEASE HELP!!!

My Aspir E5 suddenly drops network connection(WiFi) It says cannot connect to the network. When I reboot everything works fine until it drops the connection again.
