I would like to divide my current C:\ drive into two partions: one for the OS (Windows 10) and programs and the other for my user data. I will not touch the other partitions used for recovery on the hdd which are hidden. So, to be clear, my current C:\ is 500 GB and I want to end up with : C:\ of 250 GB and a new D:\ of 250 GB (for user data).
My question is, if I one day have to recover the system to its factory settings will the recovery utility be "happy" to use my new C: of 250 GB and leave my new D: drive untouched?
I created a new post because I did search the forums and found contradictory information. Some seem to indicate there is no concern for the state of the drive when the recovery is done (even a fresh drive using a recovery usb is ok); but one post said the recovery needs the original "ACER C:\" drive in its originally sized partition. Is that true?
Thanks.
