My Acer Aspire E E5-573G-52G3 came with 1TB HDD and Win 10. Upon receiving the laptop, I have done the following:
1. Booted up the system on the 1TB HDD
2. created a reinstalltion media of Win 10
3. replaced the pre-installed 1TB HDD with 500GB SSD, i.e. the SSD is now in the primar bay
4. installed a fresh Win 10 on the SSD (different language, though)
So far so good.
The problem occurred when I tried to boot from the 1TB HDD, either in a USB enclosure or in a HDD caddy:
1. If the boot mode is UEFI, seems like I can only boot from the SSD in the primary bay, regardless of what boot order I chose
2. If the boot mode is legacy, then the PC boot up with the following error message:
"Media test failure, check cable",
"No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key"
At this point, F2 no longer works and the PC is not bootable.
Please help! Many many thanks!
