The Acer website says 8GB is the max, which is what it ships with. I'm assuming that's because (to save money?) the motherboad has only one SODIMM tray. There is a spot on the MB for a second tray, but it was not soldered on at the factory. Presumably a cost cutting measure.
Anyone know what would limit the ram maximum to 8GB? This model was released in early 2015, but is still available at retailers - I just recently got this one at bestbuy.
You can now get 16GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM modules, anyone know of one of these could be installed? Could the computer make use of the full 16GB, or is the Bios or MB chipset artificially limiting the ram total to 8GB?
