Hi,
I recently bought an Acer Aspire E5-574G laptop. This was the only available Core i7 model in my country.
The laptop itself is satisfactory except that the Wireless adapter, touchpad and nVidia drivers onboard are only fully supported by Windows 10
I first tried Windows 8, in which the touchpad scroll didnt work at all
And on Ubuntu 14.10 as well as the latest LTS 16.04, the wireless drivers are not available, nor does the touchpad or the graphics drivers.
I tried a backport driver assembled by the community for the wireless adapter, which worked almost as good (except sometimes it cannot connect to networks), but the display driver issue is worst. The system always keeps the nVidia hardware turned on causing the laptop battery time to reduce to just 1.30 h (usually 4hr in Windows)
Please let me know if there's aleast a plan to release linux drivers for the following
Wireless : Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377
Graphics: nVidia Geforce 920M
Touchpad
Thank You
