I have a refurbished Acer laptop. Early this winter, the internet would only allow me to connect to gmail, not any other pages. All other devices on the wifi had no issue, and I tried all the resetting passwords, etc. on that laptop. Over the winter, various keys started not working on this laptop. Currently, about 1/3 of the keys do not type, and there doesn't seem to be any pattern as to which ones. However, the arrow keys do not work, which when I tried to reset the laptop to factory settings, prohibited me from moving through the menu.

 

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Acer E3-111 keeps shuting down on its own. Shut down after 45 minutes running. Shut down after 10 minutes running. Shuts down after 5 minutes running. Shuts down immediately after pressing power button. This occurs with and without battery present. Battery is fully charged the last time I was able to take a glimps before it shuts down. Full model is Acer E3-111 C9NY.  OS is Windows 10. Also the touch pad does not work. I am unable to update firmware or BIOS due to the device shutting down. I am more worried about the shut down problem than the touch pad. Just thought it may be related somehow. I know there are some GURU's here that may help me. Solutions would be great. I already troubleshooted most that I can troubleshoot without starting the OS or BIOS.
Also, I checked with Acer Support to see if there was a recall on this model and nothing is shown via website.

I think it may be the powerboard but not sure. I also tried the reset button on bottom while battery was still in and still same problem.

Two months ago I purchased an Acer es1521. Three weeks ago it started crashing with critical errors, event I'd 41 task category 63.  It was sent for repair under warranty and came back with a new hard drive. It continued to crash with the same critical errors and was sent back again. This time it came back with a new motherboard but is still crashing with the same errors. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this. I'm beginning to regret choosing an acer

Hello there,

 

I got a E1-531. It went black screen recently. Found out that this is the famous "Black Screen, no display" problem that occurs on most Acer laptops.

 

Finally found out that this can be only resolved by USB crisis utility. So I got the .fd file. I format my USB drive then put the .fd file in it. Then do the Fn+Esc process then power on. I see the file is getting read (status light blinking) after few seconds it beeps 3 times then it restarts the PC then it stays on forever. 

 

What could be the reason?

 

I don't know what to rename the .fd file to. The default one was Q5WV1X64.fd. What should I rename it to? Or is there anything that I have to do?

 

Help me out!

I have an Acer Aspire ES1-711 with Windows 10 and when I updated the BIOS to 1.08 the touchpad became upresponsive after reboot. They keyboard suddenly quit working as I was writing this, I tired to disable and re-enable the touchpad and that caused the keyboard to quit working. This computer might as well be a desktop now because you have to use a wireless keyboard and mouse to use it... Why does Acer always have to have faulty BIOS updates?

Ok I read in the forums something about the fact that Windows 8.1 (which is what came on my computer) is not recognized the Media Player.  I took the free upgrade to windows 10 and installed.   I have tried to load a DVD program for the first time and now discover I am unable to, so I deleted Media Player - but can't remember the free player program that was suggested in the forum I was in which I cannot find now  

 

HELP!

 

I just want to install this program and now I have no media player.  It wouldn't install previously anyway; there hs to be a solution!!!  PLEASE!!!

Long story short. I got the famous Acer Black Screen of Death. Found out that the problem was that it has the corrupted bios. Looks like it can be only recovered with Fn+Esc thingy.

 

Ok, I got the laptop with DOS loaded when it came.

 

But I'm pretty sure that it has UEFI not the legacy BIOS.

 

The thing is I tried to put the 2.xx version Q5WV1X64.fd file and try that Fn+Esc thing, it beeps for 3 times and restarts the laptop. That's it. It stays on forever.

 

I also tried to put the 1.xx version Q5WV1X64.fd file and tried the same. It resulted same with that 3 beeps and restarts.

 

Doesn't matter which version of .fd file I put in. I tried every BIOS that is listed on E1-531 product page. Same result.

 

And the other thing is the memory is working super fine. I tried it on another laptop and ran the Mem86 test and it's good. Also I pulled out the CMOS battery for 10 mins then I thought it'd reset, but it didn't. I tried the CMOS shorting method. No result too.

 

Help me out here. I feel like I gave all the enough details.

To start off, this laptop has been horrible since the day I got it. I can't even believe how slow it is; it lags doing even the simplest tasks.

That aside; I was prompted to update an AMD Catalyst Radeon (something like that) software, so I did. The screen went black and nothing happened for almost 10 hours.

I eventually decided to turn off the power. Now that I turn it back on it's just stuck on "Acer explore beyond limits" screen.

It has been like this for days now. I've tried turning it on and off again several times. It's just stuck at that screen.

What do I do? How do I fix this? I need this computer for school.

I cannot hear a video play on my Aspire laptop because the background music drowns out the talking on the video when I try to watch a t.v. episode or movie. I have tried to adjust the sound settings on the control panel with no luck. Does anyone have any ideas?   Also, I am having problems with the installed mouse on this computer.  Has anyone else experienced difficulties with their mouse on their Aspire Laptop?

Hello, I have Acer M5 481tg (IND) [2012 version], I have problem with the mSATA SSD. My SSD just detected as 2048 byte of size (actually it's must equal 20480 MB ~ 20 GB). It's just happen after i'm retsart my PC

Before of that my sound card usually not detected (but when im shuting down my PC and bring it at cool place, the sound card detected again)

And please help me, i have one greater problem now. That my PC cannot login to BIOS because the SU password set, and i don't know the password ._.

HI 

Trying to use Skype on my laptop and skypa was unable to find a camera. After reinstaling skype few times I decided to check with other progrms. So aparantly camera is not instaled on my laptop. Any program i tried o use it sayd to plug in the camera. Device manager shows no camera. I tried to run diferent program that others sugested to detect the camera and no luck. 

Whats the next plan before i open my window and throw this beautifull laptop out?

my aspire E-15 will not boot up properly.  It starts, then screen goes black.  If I pull the power out, screen comes back on, but goes dark if I plug power back in.  I see the screen brightness is reversed when I look at power options.

I have to turn on/off button off, then immedialtely turn it back on.  Then the boot is very, very slow.

Is Acer ever going to fix this?

My laptop is Acer E5 573G-37Y5. I have windows 8.1 installed on it and I find lot of issues with my laptop. The major issue is the touchpad driver. There are two drivers for touchpad are given by Acer, but neither works for me. I tried the installation several times and ended up having no luck at all.

 

This is driver information..

 

 

You can see that the driver for the touchpad has not been installed.

 

please let me know how to solve this annoying issue? I am fed up with Acer now.
