I just bought a new Acer Aspire E15 laptop which was pre-installed with Linpus Linux OS. I tried to boot from the BIOS so as to change the boot option and install a Windows 7 OS and I noticed that the BIOS was passworded.
Kindly assist with any way the password can be bypassed or how I can reset the password so that I can install the Windows OS because that's the interface that I am used to.
Before starting, it was a nightmare to sign up and link a user name with your email, or god forbid allow you to use your email adress as a user ID ...no that would make too much sense. My question is, I bought (regretablly) , an Aspire E15 ( model number E5-532-P86k ). I have the following issues:
1. My webcam does not work with the Windows 10 (native) camera app .
2. My webcam does not work with FIrefox Hello.
3. I tried to go to device manager and install the driver utility for my webcam, yet, cannot find any specification for the hardwware thus I can't find the driver itself, from a reliable source (lol) ,like Acer. I don't know what to do to get my webcam to work. I saw a video that suggested installing legacy hardware from teh device manger menu that din't help. Any suggestions appreciated.
PS: extra question if anyone is interested in answering, I bought my Acer because it had a sticker on it saying MU-MIMO wireless speed (meaning 802.11AC). Little did I know that they are going to pull a fast one on me by putting a mu-mimo with a 1x1 radio antennae -implying that its slower than some 802.11N wifi adapters ! ( the e5-532-p86k has a crappy qualcomm qca9377 - with an underwhelming 1x1 radio). -- Has anyone had luck changing the wifi radio for an intel 700 or 800 serines internal wifi radio? Thanks.
I recently got a E5 574G-52QU, today I got a new SSD to replace the HDD that came with my laptop. New SSD is a Crucial BX100 (120GB). I cloned the HDD into my SSD with two different programs succesfully, but the SSD failed to boot with both. It booted once, kept working after a few soft reboots until I turned the computer off, then it never booted again. I've tried disabling Secure Boot in the BIOS as well as using Legacy BIOS instead of UEFI, no luck. The SSD is connected to the same SATA port the old HDD was and it's the only drive in the computer, Windows 10 has AHCI support enabled in the registry (I made sure of it before cloning) and the drive is working, tested it on my desktop computer. The BIOS shows no drive at all, if I plug in my HDD instead it boots without problems. SSD firmware is updated to the latest version. I am honestly out of ideas.
Is it possible that my Aspire E15,ES-574-58JM keyboard actually lights up...and I can't figure out how?
I have a problem with my key pad which is getting vibrated . Can i replace my laptop .

I have an odd little problem.
I have issues scrolling via the touchpad when using the screenwriting software Final Draft 9. This has occurred with two different Acer Aspire E 11 models. When using both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. The text jumps and stutters and generally goes crazy.
Scolling in any other situation is perfect. And scrolling is fine in Final Draft when I attach a USB mouse.
I've contacted the people at Final Draft. So far they've found no cause. So I'm wondering if someone here might be able to provide assistance.
Again, scrolling is fine in every other situation. Drivers are up to date. Windows 10 is up to date. And the model number is: E3111P60S.
I "Refreshed" my Acer laptop several days ago because it had been acting a bit funky lately. Well, my Microsoft Word program was completely erased! Now i'm unable to access/open any of my saved documents! I've recieved a prompt asking me to purchase a Word program for $149!!! I prev purchased my Word program when I was a college student at a huge fraction of that price...I do not have the funds to re-purchase! How do I get my program back??? What Happened???? Please HELP!
Once I plug the laptop into the mains the screen goes very dark, if I unplug it its fine again, laptop only 3 monts old, seems it has only started happening since windows 10 has installed, any ideas anyone?
I had to do a usb recovery for windows 8.1 about four days ago
This time I could not select my microsoft account as always. It gave me
a message, "We couldnt change your account because there's already an account on this PC with this email address". It next gave me an option to make up a user name and password to log on. I never had to do this before, I did and it finished to let me access the internet and to receive all Micosoft Updates, even though I could not get to it on this pc. Nothing makes sense. Also I guess you guess, it messed the McAfee Antivirus settings up and sent me back to the Trial Subscription. I have a paid one year subscription. Not all updates where on it and nothing works on it like the other did. I went to their website to fix that issue but got a message that it was having trouble downloading my Full Subscription again. So for now I don't have it fixed. I feel like re-installing the whole thing again with so much problems. But it takes most of the day with updates to do. Any solutions would be appreciated. For now my Windows 8.1 is running. Thanks

I have a Acer ES!-511 with its' original power cord. It charges the battery just fine. When battery gets below 10%, and I plug in the cord, I get the "ACER" logo screen, but then it goes black. It will not run on just AC power. Please Help?
I have recently had to buy a new hard disk and had to format and reinstall everything and manually do the drivers for display etc. but did not do anything with disk drive as the driver is already there v1.10 and no problems. i have tried different burning software and still it will not burn DVDs it will burn cds so the burner works can anyone help with this issue?
