Computer issues and contacting ACER
So I bought a refurbished laptop and it is supposed to have a 90 day warranty from ACER. I get the computer start it up it does over 3 hours of updates the first night. Not used at all. Day 2 listening to music and it keeps locking up. sounds like a cd skipping. Day 2 as well, watching videos and they freeze the get the digital skipping sound. I updated all drivers and still happened. That was the end of day 2.
Day 3 online doing a discussion, in the middle of that computer locks, screen frozen and the skipping sound is LOUD the the screen goes to a broken up mode looking like it is all in squares. restart and all seems fine.
I go to call ACER and they say the computer is out of date and there is no warranty and transferred a third party compant and they will not transfer me to ACER.
These computers have a good rep, This experience shows the complete opposite!

Recovery not working - UEFI vs. Legacy BIOS
I have an Aspire M5 that is not bootable. I ordered and received recovery discs from Acer. When I boot using UEFI mode, I get the following error message... "Please boot this Recover Disc uusing legacy BIOS mode." When I boot using legacy BIOS mode, I get this error message... "Restore Fail: This recovery system can only be used on "UEFI" mode. Please press "OK" to restart the system immediately." I attached screen shots of both. My guess is something else is wrong that a recovery disc can't fix. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to proceed? Thanks!

E5-511 Freezes

I bought this acer aspire about 2 months ago. I have updated all its drivers to 2017 versions.
I have a problem with it freezing. It does this at any time about 3 times a day with no particular software running. It seems to either have a problem with the bios or a fan hardware malfunction as it seems to overheat.
Do you have a bios ver later than 2015, that I can flash. I keep hearing about bios 2.07 ver but have never found it. The bios updates for this motherboard are from 2015.
I am running win 10 Pro 64 2017.

Optane Memory ( Intel)
Hi colleagues, good morning
I have a notebook model F5-573G-71BW (Aspire F 16), with processor i7 - 7a Generation, 16Gb (Ram) and 2T of HDD.
I wonder if I can install the M.2 Optane 16 GB memory (Intel). This memory is of type 3D Xpoint, released between 2016 and 2017 and I do not know if my motherboard supports this technology.

Battery problem (Acer f 15 f5-573g)
I just bought an Acer laptop a month ago.
this computer ,well , acts kind of weird . the battery full charge capicity changes like crazy (I check using HWmonitor,BatteryMon and powercfg/batteryreport in cmd-all three give the same result).
sometimes it goes up, sometime goes down . from 1% lost in full charge to 3% and back to 1%. 1% in one month means I will lose only about 12% in a year ,but 3% is a different story . and more ,in each battery report made by powercfg/batteryreport ,there is a chart called Battery capacity history .Here is one from July 28th :

E5-575 freezes and touchpad becomes unresponsive
I have purchased a laptop E5-575 series 2 months back. It keeps on freezing when i use anything on it specially google chrome . ANother problem is its touchpad is unresponsive at times and i cant do copy paste function.

Acer E5-574-543R does not wake up from sleep.
I have an Acer E5-574-543R running the latest version of Windows 10 64bit with the latest drivers from the website. My problem is that if the laptop goes to sleep or even have the screen turn off I can not wake the system up. I tried pressing buttons, closing and opening the lid but nothing happens. I know the system is running because the indicator light is on, and I head the fan spinning. The only solution for this is to hard restart the machine (long press the power button until it shuts down and restart)
This problem started with the first major Windows 10 update (Anniversary update) before that I had no problems now I am on the Creators update and it is still broken.
Does anyone have a solution for this please? I had a similar issue on a desk PC before, I solved that with a fresh install of the Intel Management Engine Interface driver but that does not seems to be available for this laptop.

Aspire M5-583P-5859 will turn on when unplugged.
My Aspire M5-583P-5859 will not turn on when it is unplugged. The laptop works fine when it is plugged in, however, when I unplug the laptop it shuts down immediately. I have now replaced the battery twice within the last year. I just had the battery replaced in June and it worked fine until this morning. I find it hard to believe that 2 batteries have gone bad this quickly. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem? Is this a hardware issue?

E5-575-53XH stopcode screen
Hello, I bought my laptop about two months ago, but over the past month I regularly have been getting a blue screen not long after start-up. It says :-( Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart.
It usually says ACP1 BIOS ERROR, and most recent one said DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL.
Does anyone have any idea what I should do to stop this happening?

Too much crashes and BSOD in ACER Aspire E5-575g-56WE
Hi, I recently bought a new laptop Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-56WE about two months ago and since then it gets too much crashes and BSOD(Blue screen) while playing games i.e Call Of Duty MW3, Dota2 and sometimes regular BSOD while using too much tabs in Google Chorme or playing 1440p videos. My Laptop specifications are more than enough to handle such kinds of task or gamming load.
My general system information
- Intel Core i5-7200U 2.5Ghz with turbo Boost uo to 3.1Ghz
- NVIDIA GeForce 940MX with 2gb DDR5 Dedicated VRAM
- 6GB DDR4 RAM
- 1TB HDD

I have also done a memory test with Windows Memory Diagnostic Program and it shows no error.

Aspire E5-571-5428 Wifi Options Disappeared
Hi,
I was initially having some trouble connecting to a home Wifi, the trouble being that it was a poor signal, but the computer had recognised and been connected to the same Wifi, and been able to detect the Wifi signals of the surrounding houses as other potential options.
After a certain point, my laptop stopped actually presenting wireless connections as a method of connecting at all and it is detecting no Wifi options. If I open the Connect-to-a-Network bar, it only suggests Ethernet Connections and VPN.
Would anyone be able to help me get it to detect Wifi again?

Acer E 5-553 DDR4 RAM upgrade guide
I have Acer Aspire E15 E5-553 laptop which has two memory slots with DDR4 2GB memory each. I have replaced one memory with crucial DDR4 4GB 2133 MHz 1.2V laptop ram. I could not able to find original RAMs specifications. However, Total memory shown in bios is 6GB.
But when I see ram information in control panel of the windows 10 it is showing that 2GB is in use out of 6 GB. When I switch the rams slots it shows 4GB ram in use out of 6 GB. I have used windows memory diagnostic tool which did not show any error.
Is it because the two RAMs are not compatible? If so, if I buy another RAM of same specification (8GB DDR4 2133 MHz and 1.2V) will it be compatible with crucial RAM for sure so that my total memory be 12 GB? Appreciate your help.
FYI, my laptop model does not have the advanced setting in bios.
