I am unable to adjust the brightness of my laptop [Acer Aspire E 15 (E5-573G-3100)] since it was lastly opened and checked for errors by Acer Customer Service Personnel 3 days ago. Since that day, whenever the laptop is started, a DOS screen comes up and shows Realtek PCE family controller....something like this, and then it shows "MEDIA CABLE NOT FOUND, CHECK CABLE", and then the DOS screen disappears and the laptop boots properly to desktop.

 

I have tried updating the display driver from the device manager by going through one of the dicussions in Acer Community, but it doesn't work. Fn+Left/Right key combination is pressed, the brightness adjust switch shows up on screen, but it does't go either high or low. When i try it with mouse it goes up or down but the brightness of the screen doesn't change.

 

Give me a solution.

Recently discovered after i fixed the wifi problem of not able to turn wifi on on my acer e1-571   (Alth i have fix this now ),,, that the toggle slider button in windows 8.1 is not appearing (not showing i mean).. Acer world what should i do?

Hello, 

I'm looking to buy a new laptop and i thought ACER Aspire ES 15, precisely ES1-523-840E would be a good choice but i am wondering first could i add SSD to the laptop without removing HDD. If i would have to remove the DVD drive, that would not be a problem.

Does anybody know the answer?

Just bought an Acer F15  (F5-573G-58GV)

 

The set up process was fine including an update to win 10 Creators.

 

But....

The Wifi connection is running 50 % slower than my old Laptop and 50% slower than when connected with an Ethernet cable.

 

So far I have updated the Network Adapter (Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Network) Driver.

and in the Power Saving Settings, Wireless Adapter Settings have both Battery and Power Settings on "Maximum Performance"

 

Made no difference to the slow WiFi.

 

Any help woould be appreciated.

 

Edit: WiFi speed has just increased, so maybe windows was still updating "stuff" and has now finished.

Hi,

 

Please help me with this. I'm starting to work as an homebased mom with this laptop. I tried to record using my headphones, the one that's recording is the microphone of the laptop not the headphone itself. I already tried to configure it still doesnt work. My headphone is a logitech headphone that's analog. I bought a splitter adaptor to insert it on the jack. But still it's not recording thru my headphones. Please help me to figure this out. Thanks!

hi my acer E15 E5 757 has a keyboad problem, I have to hold the ''A" key  so that the other keys would work. I never spills any liquid to it and NUM 9 is not working at all.PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Hello everybody,

 

To begin, I'm sorry for my English, it's not very good because I"m French.

I have the Acer Aspire E5-521-20AP and my laptop won't power on with the AC Adapter, he works only with the battery.
When I plug the AC Adapter when the battery is in the computer I have the Orange LED indicator turned on, he tells that the battery is in charge, and Windows tells me the same, but in reality my battery is discharging.

I think it is not a problem with my AC Adapter, because he work fine with another computer.

 

To conclude :
1. Only AC Adapater --> Don't won't to Power On, when I press on Power Button, nothing  happens

2. Only Battery --> Computer Turns On, all is OK
3. AC Adapter + Battery --> Computer Powers On, indicates that the battery is in charge, but in reality, the battery is discharging.

 

My computer is now not under Warranty, can somebody give me the service guide to repair it please ?
I think it is a problem with the Power supply circuit of the computer :/

 

I wait for your replies, and I hope to see my computer working...

Laptop just froze 2 times and I could only turn it off by pressing the Power button....then i had no problem for the day...

Today same thing happened...after I got and error with Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2.

My laptop has the latest BIOS version 1.27 installed.

I had some driver errors problems with it after i updated BIOS...i dont know if they are related...but just to be sure I reinstalled Windows 10 x64 PRO on it...clean install.

 

just now in windows logs i am getting the message:

"The speed of processor 2 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report."

 

Any suggestion of what can it be? I have this laptop since octomber 2016

My E5-521 has black screen, power is on, fan is running.  Tried to go to external monitor it does not work.

 

Anyone have a solution?

 

Various youtube videos show you can fix this by:

1. Creating a special USB bootable stick containing the BIOS for your model.
2. Need to rename a .fd file from the DOS BIOS to name zg5ia32.fd
3. Put USB into the computer, hold FN key and ESC key when you power up,
4. It should update you BIOS and all should be OK…

 

The problem I have is the BIOS_Acer_1.04_A_A.zip file I download for the E5-521 has only a

BIOS_Acer_1.04_Windows directory and not a DOS directory.  No .fd file exists after extracting the files using 7-zip from the Z5WAE104.exe file, only contains:

 

Ding.wav     FlsHookDll.dll  H2OFFT-W.exe  iscflash.sys     platform.ini

FlsHook.exe  FWUpdLcl.exe    iscflash.dll  iscflashx64.sys  xerces-c_2_7.dll

 

Where can I get the DOS directory for the E5-521?  What do I need to rename the .fd file to?

I have been in the windows insider program and have had issues with it updating so i want to go back to factory default and get out of the program.

 

I don't know why I don't have a recovery partition but I don't so I purchased a USB recovery from ACER for 50.00 Canadian.  I've enabled F12 in the BIOS and I choose the USB HDD from the boot option menu but it just boots in Windows  like normal.  I'm not a techie but can get by with simple instructions in most cases but this is driving me nuts.  It seems like I just blew 50.00 for nothing.  Is it because of the Windows Insider Program and if so why?   I've tried the USB in each port but it doesn't matter.

 

I could really use some good help.  Laptop is an ACER Aspire E15 - 573-56RP.  I'm running Windows 10 Home Insider Program at the moment.  It was their forum that said to go back to factory default

I have a new Acer aspire lap top but even though I have charged up to battery and it shows 100% it will not start just on battery and if I start it while its plugged in to the mains and then remove the mains lead it turns off immediately. Any ideas please.

1 year old(out of warrenty)
