I would like to upgrade my laptop with m.2 SSD card. I know Samsung 850 evo is compatible with my laptop.

But I want the fastest one. So I'm not sure whether Samsung 960 Evo NVMe is compatible with my laptop or not. Dear experts, please enlighten me.

My Acer will not connect with my Verizon MiFi jetpack.

Can I upgrade RAM on Aspire ES1-111-C1EB ? How difficult is it?

Hello,

I own a Acer Aspire E 11 (ES1-111-C1EB). The system information is:

Brand: Acer

Product Name: Aspire ES1-111

Serial Number: NXMRKEX028**********

The laptop comes with 4GB DD3L memory.

Can I upgrade the RAM to 8GB?

If yes, it is easy enough to do it myself by removing the back cover or do I have to disassemble it further?

TIA,

I downloaded the drivers I need to update on my laptop.....soooo how do I apply them.  I want them to replace the out of date drivers in my laptop but when they are downloaded they just appear as a file in a documents folder.  When I clicked on the download link I chose the "run" option on the bar that has the choices: RUN, SAVE, and SAVE AS

Can anyone tell me what I need to do with the file after the download?  Appreciate whatever help I can get......Thanks in advance

Aspire E1-532 W10 not booting

Hi peeps!

I have a massive problem.
My Aspire E1-532 running Windows 10 (originaly 8.0) won't boot past the Acer-logo.

Some background info:

My wife was using it at the time and the laptop was terribly slow (as usual since about a couple of months).
She tried using Chrome to do some banking (Chrome makes things even worse) and it froze.
So after an hour she tried Ctrl Alt Del, the blue screen pops up pretty quick, she clicked Taskmanager and the thing froze again.
This time it remained that way for hours, so eventually (can't blame her, we're both totally fed up with it) she shut it off by holding the power button.

And that's pretty much it...

About 80% of the time it's just the Acer logo for about 30 to 40 minutes before it shuts of, but sometimes a blue screen appears.

I have seen three variants of the bsod:
1. An error-message saying something like "0x0000085" and it will give me three options. Try again (just loops back into nothing), start in safemode (same result none the less) and a CNG.sys error.

I have tried booting from USB (Ubuntu) which worked, but i could not reach the HDD.
I then get and extensive error message.
BUT (!) in the end it says that i should shut down Windows first and not leave it in Sleep or Hibernate.

A bootable W10 USB showed the Windows logo, but the got stuck in a black-ish screen.

The bios is reachable, so is bootoptions.
Troubleshooting (F8) and Recovery (F11) are not.

Help!

Oversaturated screen colors NEED HELP PLEASE

I really hope someone can help. I purchased an Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM 15.6 inch notebook this week. I was so excited to get this thing. But immediately I have a problem. All of the screen colors are super oversaturated.  I am a photographer and the screen colors are going to be unusable for me if I can't solve this problem.

Is there a driver (maybe an older one but not too old) that I can replace the current driver with and get back to a true saturation for my needs color wise?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS.  I do know that some programs such as Photoshop will correct the color issue in a particular photograph, but I really need a whole system fix.

Aspire ES 15 ES1-531-P8NJ slow operation

A couple of days ago an external drive gave me the message "the disc structure is corrupted and unreadable". At about the same time the computer started to run very slowly and Internet Explorer, (not my usual browser), ran itself and delivered several pages all pointed to RES://aa/Resources.dll/104 with the advice that "This page cannot be displayed".

Could all of these things be related or is the timing coincidental? Can I restore the system without losing the installed programs and data? Will attempting to reformat the external drive, (a last resort), resuscitate it?

I would really appreciate any assistance or advice.

James

I need to find an internal cd/dvd drive for my ES1-571.  Where can I find one?  I already read forums on other models on how to remove the plastic placeholder and how to install the new drive.  I just cannot find any information on what DVD drive to purchase.

Aspire E5-575 touchpad not working and other errors

The touchpad on my 2 month laptop has completely stopped working. i spent 3 hours scouring through forums and not a single fix has worked, including the drivers from the acer website. i've looked at every single mouse setting and property i could find and nothing helped.

A long with this, i also run into constant minor glitches every time i use this computer including: taskbar will suddenly switch to the top of the screen, or will no longer open until its restarted, the sound option will stop working until its restarted, the keyboard will stop working, the screen will go all black, etc...

is there an actual fix for these problems?(touchpad is priority)

Acer E5 773 DVD drive removal to add new HDD

$

I have decided that I want to add a 2nd hard drive (well, SSD) to my Acer E5 773 laptop but, unlike my last laptop, which had separate hatchways for replacing such things as 1st and 2nd hard drive, RAM and battery, the E5 773 has no such easy access as the bottom casing is one complete piece which requires completely removing to gain access - something I am quite reluctant to do at the moment.

I thought I'd found the perfect solution via using a caddy that takes a hard drive and swaps out with the Acer's DVD drive (which can then be converted to USB). Great!

Every Youtube video showing how to remove the DVD drive from an Acer (various models but nothing specifically for the E5 773), show it to be a simple removal of a single central screw just beyond the depth of the DVD drive, whereupon it easily slides out.

However, try as I might, my DVD drive is stuck fast, even after applying far more force than I am comfortable using. I have also loosened the screws around it in case they are clamping it and even removed the next central screw in the unlikely event that it is held in by two screws over an inch apart. I do not know if it is stuck because it has never been removed and is catching on something or, like the rest of the access, it is not designed to be removed in this way.

So, before I do something to wreck my laptop, I am wondering if anyone can advise what I have to do - or is it really a case of having to completely remove the base? (and how might doing this affect whatever is connected to the battery EC reset pinhole?)

Thanks in advance.

Hello all,

Earlier today, a key off my Acer Aspire E5-575G's keyboard came off, along with the two little white pieces (both squares) that support the pieces into the keyboard's frame. I have both of the parts, I am just confused on where they go. If anyone can help me be able to put this back together, please let me know by replying to this, it would mean a lot. Thanks so much, I hope someone will be able to help me! Smiley Happy

E3-111-C9GH has (serious) trouble installing a fresh copy of Windows

$

hello everyone! I'm just here to ask a question if this is all normal or not.
(I hope you guys don't mind my terrible English)
So, a few weeks ago I figured it was time to re-install Windows 10. I chose the option to remove every single file and 'clean up' the harddrive. but when the laptop rebooted to Windows loading screen it just suddenly froze. and after 6 seconds the harddrive shut down. I thought it was preparing something but unfortunately after 4 days passing by it didn't do a single thing.
So I grabbed my Windows 7 copy to test out if it is the same there, and yep. 'starting windows', it froze in the middle of the animation and exactly the same happened just like Windows 10. same goes for Windows 8.

Is this a bios problem or is the device just faulty?

oh and another question. what if I want to go back to W8 (it originally came with this OS) do I need to buy a new code or is the code hardware locked on the motherboard?
(I hate that there are no Installation codes on the bottom of laptops anymore)

Thanks for the help in advance!
